Lions are people just like you who may have a desire to enhance their local, national and international communities, sometimes their generosity as a volunteer can have a huge impact on local, national and international good causes. They are people who alone can achieve a little, whilst working together in an international service organisation with approximately 1,500,000 members worldwide. They can and do make great changes to hundreds of thousands of peoples lives and assist many other organisations both here at home and throughout the entire world.

As an example at the 9/11 disaster in New York, within 2 hours local Lion Members were the first volunteer service organisation to turn out issuing free bottled water to the rescuers. The local Lions stayed throughout the entire duration of the whole rescue operation and within 4 hours of the second twin tower falling, $1.5million were donated to the initial disaster fund to support local Lions at the front line, those best placed to know what was required when, where and why. Much more money and supplies were donated later from Lions Clubs from all around the world.

Lion members want to do something for the people in the community who are often less fortunate than themselves. We vary in age ranges, religious, ethnical and cultural backgrounds but we are brought together in one common logo "WE SERVE".

We raise funds to carry out our service work ensuring that every single penny raised for charity is donated to charity and most importantly of all we have fun and enjoy the fellowship of each other’s company at the many social events, whilst raising the funds required.
